2011 Youth of the Year,  Amy

Amy is a junior at Gardiner Area High School and currently employed at the Clubs’ greeter. Amy has been a Club member since 2004 where she is a member of our Teen Center. Amy was shy and kept to herself most of the time. She spent most of her time in the Library of the Community Learning Center concentrating on her studies. With help of a tutor and other Club members, Amy got settled into the Club and started to feel more comfortable. Her grades improved and so did her confidence. Amy joined the Torch Club where she organized and participated in service projects for the Club. Spending more and more time at the Club, we could see that she was becoming a well-rounded young adult. Today, Amy is an active member of the Keystone Club.  She recently helped to raise $1000.00 for a 16-year old Maine girl to go to Disney through Give Kids the World, part of the Make a Wish Foundation. In June, Amy and the rest of the Keystone Club are going to Florida, where they will be helping, Gives Kids the World, with other children who are terminally ill. We are very proud of Amy and wish her the best of luck!
