21st Century Community Learning Center (CLC)

Maine Department of Education | The Boys and Girls Clubs Kennebec Valley

The 21st Century Community Learning Center, known as CLC, is funded by the Maine Department of Education to provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for Teen Center members at the Sandra M. Prescott Clubhouse, Riverview Students Grades 3-5, Chelsea/Whitefield students grades 3-8 and Windsor/Palermo students grade 3-8 for the upcoming 23-24 school year.

 

Sandra M. Prescott Clubhouse Site

CLC is offered to Riverview Students grades 3rd-5th Monday- Thursday and Teen Center members grade 6th-8th Monday-Friday free of charge. Students are transported to the Club after school. Parents must provide transportation home from the Club before 5:30pm. CLC is not offered on no school days or early release days. Teen Center members are still allowed to attend the Club on no school days/early release days, but unfortunately CLC Riverview students are not. Please check monthly program calendars for activities and additional information about each program.

Chelsea CLC Site "Camp Chelsea"

Students attending both Chelsea & Whitefield Elementary schools in grades 3rd-8th can attended Camp Chelsea which is located at the Chelsea school. Whitefield students are bused after school to Chelsea Elementary. CLC is offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Parents can pick members up or speak with program director about RSU 12 providing transportation home. Summer programming is also offered Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 12:00pm. 

Windsor CLC Site

Students that attend Windsor Elementary & Palermo Consolidated schools in grades 3rd-8th can attend CLC located at Windsor Elementary. Palermo students are bused to Windsor after school. CLC is offer from 2:30pm to 4:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Transportation is provided by RSU 12 if needed or parents can pick up members before 4:30pm. Summer programming is offered Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 12:00pm at our Chelsea Site.

Members at all sites are tutored in small groups by teachers, Ed techs and high school students that are in the top 10 percent of their class.
