Early Childhood Programming

 Early Childhood Programming

Early Childhood Programs are ONLY offered at the Sandra M. Prescott Clubhouse at this time.

We offer multi-faceted programs designed to give children the strong social-emotional, cognitive, and language skills needed to succeed in school and life.

Infant Care - Age 6 weeks to 18 months

Our infant program has 8 spots with 2 staff. Daily activities include playing with age appropriate toys, dabbling with art, imitating and pretending, enjoying stories and books, exploring different sensory activities, having fun with music and movement, and developing routines such as hellos and goodbyes. Every infant has their own unique schedule and needs with napping and feedings. Staff work with parents/guardians to make a schedule that works for everyone!  The Club provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack for all infants that are at the finger food stage and up. We ask parents to provide all breast milk/formula, bottles and nipples, diapers, wipes, extra clothes and any baby food such as cereal and stage foods your child is eating and diapers and wipes.

Toddler Care - Age 18 months to 3 years

The Toddler program is a safe and fun place for little ones to explore and start learning more about themselves and their environment. With 10 children and 2 staff it is busy! Daily activities include self help skills such as tooth brushing, hand washing, and toilet learning, arts and crafts, gym or outside time, mealtime, naptime, and social emotional activities. The Club provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. We ask parent to provide diapers, wipes, and extra clothes.

Early Preschool - Age 2 1/2 to 4 years

The early preschool classroom prepares children to become full-time preschool students. 14 children and two staff make up with classroom. Staff plan and implement age appropriate curriculum that follows Maine Early Guidelines. Activities include toilet learning, self help skills, gym and outside time, afternoon rest time, mealtimes, arts and crafts, gross and fine motor activities, and social emotional activities. The Club provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. If the child is not fully toilet trained parents/guardians need to provide diapers and wipes along with extra clothes.

Preschool - Age 3 to 5 years

All children enrolled in our preschool program MUST be fully toilet trained. Our preschool classroom has 20 children and two staff. This program provides educational activities and curriculum that follows the Maine Early Learning Guidelines. Children are encouraged to explore the world through a variety of activities such as free play, cooking, arts and crafts, music and movement, game and dramatic play. Each day they eat meals with their peers, play in the gym or outside and have an afternoon rest time. Children can bring comfort items for rest time. We ask that all children also have a change of clothes and weather appropriate attire. We offer breakfast, lunch and snack.
