Boys & Girls Clubs Kennebec Valley Employment Application
Thank You for your interest in working at the Club. An application can be found here or in the front office of the Sandra M. Prescott Clubhouse located at 14 Pray St. Gardiner, Maine. Application are kept on file for 6 months.
All employees who are part of our licensed childcare program must be fingerprinted with a state approved agency. The Club uses Identogo in Augusta, Maine. It is a FREE service for all child care providers.
The Club contacts criminal background checks on all employees, including minors; board volunteers and any others who serve on a standing committee; and all other volunteers, including partners and minors, who have direct contact with minors.
Name -based and/or fingerprint-based records searches many be use in any combination, the background check shall at minimum:
Verify the person's identity and legal aliases through verification of a social security number.
Provide a national Sex Offender Registry search.
Provide a comprehensive criminal search that includes a national search.
Provide a comprehensive local criminal search that includes wither a statewide or county level criminal search, depending on jurisdiction.
Include any additional background criteria required by organizational policies, funding or licensing agencies or required in the applicable jurisdiction, such as motor vehicle records, child abuse registry or credit checks.
Such check will be conducted prior to starting employment. Checks will also be done yearly for the duration of employment with the Club.
All background check findings shall be considered when making final employment and volunteer decisions, and the Club will NOT employ or have any volunteers that:
Refuses to consent to a criminal background check.
Makes a false statement in connection with such a criminal background check.
Is registered, or is required to be registered, on a state or national sex offender registry.
Has been convicted of a felony consisting of: Murder, Child abuse, Domestic violence, Abduction or human trafficking, A crime involving rape or sexual assault, Arson, Weapons, Physical assault or battery, Drug possession, use or distribution in the last five year.
Has been convicted of any misdemeanor or felony against children, including child pornography.
The Club’s most frequent staff need is for early childhood teacher assistants/subs and before & after school programs for children in kindergarten to fifth grade. The Club is open from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. We ask that applicants are flexible and available to work during Club hours.
